Hello! My name is Jessica Riggan and I am so excited for my second year at Deepwater Elementary as a Special Education teacher for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades! I am in the House of Honesty and am excited to be a house leader this school year!  I grew up in Deer Park and graduated from DPHS in 2003.  My husband teaches and coaches down the street at Deepwater Junior High, and we have three children. We have two boys; Hudson who is 9 and Kinsler who is 6, as well as our sweet baby girl Paisley, who is 4.

I went to college at Abilene Christian University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 2008. My very first year of teaching, I received the "Rookie Teacher of the Year" award for LaPorte ISD.  4 years ago, I received my Special Education certification for EC-12th grade.  I taught Kindergarten for 8 years, First Grade for 1 year, and spent one year as an ARD Facilitator for an Education Cooperative in Abilene, Texas.  This marks the beginning of my 12th year in education!

I believe that ALL children are capable of learning at high levels and I am really looking forward to seeing all of the amazing things our students at DWE will be doing this year! It is going to be one fantastic school year! Go Cougars!
