Welcome!

Hi! My name is Barry Smith. I graduated from Deer Park ISD and then from the University of Houston Clear Lake with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. This will be my 23rd year to teach, my 21st at Deepwater Elementary. I have been married to my wife Julie for 35 years.  We have one fur baby,  a cat, named Duchess Daisy. I like to read, eat pizza, code robots, take naps, go to Disney, and discover new apps to use in my classroom. I received the Shell Regional Lab Challenge Grant in 2018. Disney World is our happy place, and we try to get there at least once every two years (check out my photo album for pictures from our latest trip!). I am excited and looking forward to a wonderful year!
