About the Teacher
Hello! My name is Mr. Self, and I am delighted to be your child's bilingual Science and Social Studies teacher here at Deepwater. With six years of teaching experience, I have had the joy of working with students in both 2nd and 3rd grade, all of whom have been bilingual learners.
My educational background includes a passion for the arts and history, which I studied at the esteemed University of Houston. I believe that a well-rounded education is crucial for young minds, and I strive to integrate creativity and cultural understanding into our classroom experiences.
In my personal life, I am blessed with two amazing little boys, aged 3 and 6, who keep me on my toes and constantly remind me of the wonders of childhood. Spending quality time with my family is something I cherish, and we enjoy exploring the world through books, artistic creations, and outdoor adventures, particularly at the pool.
I firmly believe that a strong partnership between parents and teachers is key to ensuring the success and growth of your children. I am committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive academically and emotionally.

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Sr. Self y estoy encantado de ser el maestro bilingüe de Ciencias y Estudios Sociales de su hijo/a aquí en Deepwater. Con seis años de experiencia en la enseñanza, he tenido la alegría de trabajar con estudiantes de 2º y 3º grado, todos ellos aprendices bilingües.
Mi formación académica incluye una pasión por las artes e historia, las cuales estudié en la prestigiosa Universidad de Houston. Creo firmemente que una educación integral es fundamental para las mentes jóvenes y me esfuerzo por integrar la creatividad y el entendimiento cultural en nuestras experiencias en el aula.
En mi vida personal, tengo la bendición de dos maravillosos hijos, de 3 y 6 años, quienes me mantienen alerta y constantemente me recuerdan las maravillas de la infancia. Disfrutar de tiempo de calidad con mi familia es algo que aprecio mucho, y nos encanta explorar el mundo a través de libros, creaciones artísticas y aventuras al aire libre, especialmente en la piscina.
Creo firmemente que una sólida colaboración entre padres y maestros es clave para asegurar el éxito y crecimiento de sus hijos. Estoy comprometido a fomentar un ambiente de aprendizaje inclusivo y de apoyo, donde cada estudiante pueda prosperar académicamente y emocionalmente.
