Welcome!

Hi! My name is Barry Smith. I graduated from Deer Park ISD and then from the University of Houston Clear Lake with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. This will be my 22nd year to teach, my 20th at Deepwater Elementary. I have been married to my wife Julie for 34 years.  We have two fur babies, cats, named Duchess Daisy and Princess Minnie. I like to read, eat pizza, code robots, take naps, go to Disney, and discover new apps to use in my classroom. I received the Shell Regional Lab Challenge Grant in 2018. Disney World is our happy place, and we try to get there at least once every two years (check out my photo album for pictures from our latest trip!). I am excited and looking forward to a wonderful year!
