Welcome to Mrs. Bedford's Webpage

I am looking forward to my 31st school year!  I have taught first, third, and fourth grade. I have been working at Deepwater Elementary for 16 years. I spent 7 years as a reading interventionist at Deepwater Elementary. This is is my 6th year as a dyslexia interventionist. 

 

I am a Deer Park High School graduate.  I continued my education at Sam Houston State. My husband and I have 3 boys that have also attended Deer Park school. My oldest graduated from A&M University, my middle son is attending Texas Tech University and the youngest is a freshman at Texas A&M University.

 

I have always enjoyed working with kids and have loved teaching. Reading became my passion as a First grade teacher and watching them learn and the pride they had in themselves when they became readers. However, some students didn't find it easy and became frustrated. This also became true at home with my oldest son who struggled to read and was identified dyslexic.  It was then that I became interested in dyslexia and trying to help those students.  

I enjoy reading and traveling in my free time. My bucket list is to visit all 50 states!  So far I have seen 42 of our 50 States!
