Welcome to Mrs. Schwander's Webpage!

I am proudly starting my 25th year in education.  My teaching background includes 7 years in the General Education classroom and 10 years in Special Education.  I taught Reading Intervention at DWE for 5 years.  I am starting my 2nd year teaching Special Education here , specifically Resource and Co-teach. I graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education.  I am certified to teach grades 1-8 in the classroom, Sped. Pre-k-12, and ESL grades 1-8.  I have been happily married for 29 years and have 2 beautiful boys, ages 20 and 25.  My hobbies include traveling, wine tasting, boating, watching  baseball and football games, watching live music, dancing and walking my 2 dogs!
